I'm glad that you have gotten to see the author's chair in action! When I've worked with K's and first graders it seems like the same kids share. Have you seen how to get a variety of kids to share their writing? This is such an important element of reading development--especially for the ECE kids.
"Writing is about expressing, not correctness." Great quote to pull out! I think that's a quote that all of us teachers should post on our computers or desks where we plan our lessons! All too often we get over concerned with correctness (mostly because of standardized test pressures).
