Hi Ashely- sounds like you have a great grasp on what Reading workshop is and I could visualize you sitting in your teacher chair giving your mini lesson with little eager eyes on you and could see the rest of the lesson as you described going just as smoothly.
On a different note- book nooks are my favorite. I have one for me in my own home!

I also really liked the idea of keeping a reading notebook and making notes of what the students learned and what they are working on. I think that's a great way for you and the students to keep track of their progress.
Agree with Kathleen, nice integration of possible grading within the project. If they don't know they are being tested they may well have a different reaction to reading.
